Photography Services for Performers, Individuals and Events
Bee Marie Photography covers three main areas: performer photography, creative portraits and event photography. Each is approached the same way, with honesty, care and a focus on what is real rather than what is staged. Sessions are available in Bristol and across Southern England, with travel further afield available for the right project.
Performer Photography
Creative photography for dancers, artists, actors and performers, in studios, on location or within performance environments.
As a dancer herself, Bee Marie understands movement in a way that goes beyond a technical eye. She knows which details matter to performers and why, and approaches each shoot with a genuine interest in how you want yourself and your craft to be seen. That means your artistic vision shapes the session, not the other way around.
Performer photography is suitable for portfolio work, promotional imagery, creative concepts or simply documenting your art at a particular point in time.
Creative Portraits
Portrait photography for people who want to celebrate themselves, express something personal, explore a creative concept or simply have photographs that actually look like them.
You do not need to arrive confident. You do not need to know how to pose. Some clients come with a clear concept in mind; others start with nothing more than a feeling. Either is a completely fine starting point.
Bee Marie's approach is particularly welcoming to people who normally avoid cameras, who have insecurities about being photographed, or who have simply never had a portrait session that felt comfortable. The experience matters as much as the images. The aim is for you to leave feeling seen, comfortable and hopefully a little more confident than when you arrived.
Event Photography
Photography for weddings, celebrations, live performances, creative events and other meaningful occasions.
The approach is primarily observational. Rather than directing people or interrupting the flow of an event to set up shots, Bee Marie works within what is happening: the interactions, expressions, unexpected moments and small details that give an event its character. The result is a collection of images that lets you feel the event again, not just see what happened.
Relaxed group photographs or portraits can be included where wanted, without them taking over the day. Beforehand, Bee Marie will ask about what matters most to you: key people, significant moments, traditions or details you want to make sure are captured.
Event photography is suited to people who want their event documented authentically rather than made to look perfectly staged.
Common questions
A creative portrait session is for anyone wanting photographs for self-expression, confidence-building, celebration or creativity. It does not require a performance background. A performer shoot is specifically designed for dancers, artists, actors and other performers who want their craft or artistic identity documented. Both are relaxed and collaborative, but a performer shoot is shaped more closely around your artistic vision and how you want your work to be represented.
No. You can arrive with a fully formed creative concept or with nothing more than a rough idea of the mood or feeling you are after. Developing ideas together is part of the process. Bee Marie will ask questions, listen to what you want and help shape the session around you.
The approach is primarily observational and natural. Rather than stopping people to pose or directing the event around photography, Bee Marie works within what is happening, capturing real moments, interactions and details as they unfold. Group shots or portraits can be included where you want them, but they are worked around your event rather than the other way around.
This depends on the project. Get in touch to discuss what you have in mind and Bee Marie will let you know what is possible and how it might work in practice.
